SA Express (SAX) has added a second frequency from Johannesburg to Mthatha, which started on February 25.
The airline operates a 50-seat regional jet CRJ 200 on the route and now offers a morning and afternoon service from Sunday to Friday. The flight schedules are as follows:
- Morning flights depart OR Tambo at 06h00, arriving in Mthatha at 07h30.
- Return flights depart at 08h10, and arrive at OR Tambo at 09h40.
- Afternoon fights depart OR Tambo at 15h30, arriving in Mthatha at 17h00.
- Return flights depart Mthatha at 17h40, arriving at OR Tambo at 19h10.
The airline resumed operations between OR Tambo and Mthatha Airport last week Thursday (21 February), after the South African Civil Aviation Authority reinstated the airport following last month’s (January) downgrade.
